Intellectual property | Patents and design rights | Wood Burner Firelighters
You would be forgiven for thinking that patenting a method of making a fire would be impossible.
However, Hot Box ® Firestarter has two UK patents, and patents pending across a range of other countries.

Our thinking
By eliminating the stages needed to create the perfect fire and bundling them into a single process, combustible with ‘one click’ of a lighter or ‘one strike’ of a match, we solve a problem. The Hot Box™ Firestarter was designed to allow any user to quickly and easily start a fire with a single, pre-boxed assembly of components, and to allow further fuel to be added thereafter. By using a perfectly formed stack of kindling and a simple firelighter, we devised a product that works flawlessly each and every time.
Wood Burner Firelighters | Fire without kindling
Arguably, Hot Box ® Firestarter puts an end to kindling and traditional firelighting methods as we know them.
Simply pop out the chimney and one of the air holes at the base, light using a match or regular lighter and wait.
Add logs and enjoy the perfect fire.
The log stack
For the ultimate in firelighting convenience, follow the above steps but stack some logs around Hot Box ® Firestarter and get on with whatever else you have to do. Within ten minutes the fire will be raging and the air can be dialled down for the perfect burn.
Why Choose Hot Box ® Firestarter
At Hot Box ®, we have spent over 15 years installing wood burners.
The process of lighting a wood burning stove can be time consuming and requires preparation.
Sourcing kindling, or chopping logs into smaller pieces can be a time consuming process.
Further, it adds another layer to the firelighting process when most already have enough to consider when it comes time to light a fire.
Moreover, from our experience, different lighting methods can create varying results,
This is not necessarily good for the stove or installation and may create unnecessary emissions.
Interestingly, most emissions from a wood burning appliances are created during the initial combustion phases.
Moreover, at Hot Box ®, our unique firelighter standardises a process and will ultimately reduce emissions by generating more heat more quickly,
Furthermore, this increased heat will lead to a hotter and subsequently cleaner fire, so long as the fuel used is appropriate with a moisture content of less than 20%.
Remember, it is important to choose a fuel supplier carefully who is Woodsure approved.
Ensuring the ignition process is carefully managed, and the fuel burnt is fit for purpose, emissions from domestic wood burning will be reduced.
The case for wood fuel is in constant focus and taking steps to facilitate cleaner burning is critical,

Bought a large pack for my glamping site as I was constantly being asked by guests to help light the wood burners in my Yurts. Now I simply leave a couple of these by the side of the stoves with a basket of logs and so far so good!
