Components
The Hot Box Firestarter is made from 100% natural and recycled materials. The outer structure is constructed from recycled cardboard, while the internal components are crafted from repurposed waste timber and sawdust.
No chemicals, glue, or artificial fixings are used, making it an eco-friendly product. The firestarter's packaging is also designed with sustainability in mind, using recycled cardboard and paper tape, avoiding plastic wherever possible.

Not just another firelighter
An ordinary firelighter provides ignition. Hot Box® combines the ignition element, internal kindling and a protective airflow structure inside one complete Firestarter.

How to use Hot Box® Firestarter
Hot Box® removes much of the preparation normally associated with lighting a wood or charcoal fire.
Position and light
Place one Firestarter inside the appliance. Open any required air controls and light the exposed ignition material.
Let the flame establish
Allow the internal timber to catch and develop a strong flame. Avoid covering the cube with heavy fuel too soon.
Add suitable fuel
Add dry wood fuel or charcoal gradually, following the instructions supplied with your stove, fireplace, BBQ or oven.
Always use suitable dry fuel, follow your appliance manufacturer's instructions and never leave a fire unattended.

Airflow and dry fuel still matter
Hot Box® simplifies the lighting process, but every fire still needs oxygen, suitable fuel and a correctly operating appliance or chimney.
Before lighting, open the required air controls and check that the flue or chimney is drawing correctly. Use dry fuel of a suitable size and avoid covering the Firestarter too heavily before its flame has established.
Is the fire struggling?
Check the air vents first. Restricted airflow is one of the most common reasons a newly lit fire fails to establish.

Hot Box® Firestarter contains integrated timber kindling, so separate loose kindling is not normally required for the initial lighting stage.
Do I need newspaper?
No. The product includes its own ignition element and is designed to be lit without newspaper.
Can I use Hot Box® in a wood-burning stove?
Yes. Hot Box® is suitable for wood-burning stoves, provided the appliance is suitable, correctly maintained and used in accordance with its manufacturer's instructions.
Can it be used in an open fireplace?
Yes. Position it securely, ensure the chimney is drawing correctly and allow the Firestarter to establish before adding larger pieces of suitable dry fuel.
Can Hot Box® be used to light a BBQ?
Hot Box® can be used to establish charcoal in a suitable BBQ. Allow the product to burn away fully and wait until the charcoal is ready before cooking.
Does the product use natural materials?

Frequently asked questions about the Hot Box® Firestarter
Our natural firelighters are made from waste materials.
The outer is made from recycled card, the components inside are made from waste timber sections, our firelighters are made from sawdust that has been re purposed.
We do not use, chemicals, glue, pins or other nasty things anywhere ever.
Even our outer packaging is made from recycled card and the tape used to seal the box is paper.
We don’t really believe in using plastic if we can avoid it.

You do not need to bother with firelighters or kindling. our product replaces both and allows a user to simply have one product in their home plus some logs to add after Firestarter has got going.
Alternatively, stack some logs near our natural firelighter and the temperature in your stove will increase to easily ignite the fuel.

There is no smoke without fire! Once your Hot Box ® Firestarter is alight, some smoke will be produced, this should subside in under 1 minute, if using in a stove please ensure air vents are open during initial combustion phases,
Once the components inside the box start to burn, the flue of your appliance will get warm. Thereafter, the smoke produced will move up the chimney.
Within only a few minutes, our patented fire lighter will start to produce flames and the heat produced is greater than any other natural fire lighter currently available.
For safety we don’t recommend touching the fire lighter once lit it will be hot, only approach if you are confident that it has extinguished.
As the components inside start to burn the flames will intensify. Eventually, the flames will start to come from the chimney before the outer box burns away.
